Digital Inclusion & Empowerment In India Symposium
The symposium was organised as part of the India chapter of DiSTO (From Digital Skills to Tangible Outcomes). DiSTO, led by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), focuses on developing and enhancing measures and models that assess people’s digital skills, digital engagement, and outcomes of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) use. By mapping these factors onto societal inequalities, DiSTO aims to drive positive change.

The two-day symposium collated engaging panel discussions centred around labour markets, digital literacy and skills, digital well-being and mental health, digital infrastructure, financial inclusion, and inclusive strategies for marginalised communities. Our panel curation included a diverse range of participants such as esteemed academicians, seasoned practitioners, influential policymakers, and visionary change-makers. The symposium was followed by a two-day workshop for early career researchers around the challenges and the tools needed to research digital inequalities.
